Mexican President Visits White House

Celebrating the start of USMCA trade deal.

Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador arrived in Washington, D.C. on Tuesday ahead of his planned meeting with President Trump to celebrate the start of the U.S. Mexico Canada Agreement (USMCA), the replacement of NAFTA. Prior to his departure, President Obrador pledged to represent the people of Mexico well saying, “I am going to represent you and have no doubt, I will do as you all deserve, with decorum and a lot of dignity.”

President Obrador praised the new trade agreement saying, “This helps us by being neighbors. This is about the economy, it’s about jobs, it’s about well-being.” He went on to also express that building a strong relationship between the two nations’ governments would assure that Mexicans living in the United States would be treated fairly.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • That God would guide the conversations between the two leaders for good outcomes for both nations.
  • For God to use President Trump to build strong diplomatic ties between the nation’s neighbors.
  • That God would use the USMCA to bring about strong economic outcomes for North Americans.
